When I was designing the new bannerhead for this site, I realized that you could read BHOM (Blue House on Main) as “be home,” which is perfectly appropriate for a blog about a house. Then I realized that you can interpret it another way as well: “Bee Home.” So that’s when I latched on to the idea of using a bee theme, depicting a bee hive as a Bee Home. Cute, eh?
Today I replaced the ivy background with a new (vintage) image of a bee pattern. The beehive on the banner is a vintage image as well. Needless to say, I like vintage images. I like most things old and full of character. (Sorry, you can’t really see the background if you’re viewing on a mobile device.)
I modified the color of the bee graphic to coordinate with my site color scheme.
