My tree across the street

The tree across the street
From my window view
Welcomes spring with
yellow tulip blooms
Fresh for a moment…

You are lovely in summer
With your leafy green billows
Of enthusiastic energy
Dancing with the breeze

Fall fades fast
As leaves do
I’ll miss your green waves
Though I do love orange and yellow

But I love you most
In your winter nakedness
Gnarly limbs exposed
Your age plainly apparent.

Perhaps you are my reflection
In a tree.

  1. I like 3 seasons but bare trees make my joints hurt. Maybe because I feel as old as they are. Nice tree though, and you get a great view.
